Why On Earth Would I Spotlight This Video?

Why on earth would I spotlight this video, let alone make it the very first featurette on Female Guitar Players, all the way back to 2009? You're not the only one who has asked this question! In November of last year (2011), I entered it into our First Contest/Activity Event, and very quickly received the following letter!:

Chromaticking...Lady of Sorrows was the very first feature we had here on the channel. I had completely forgotten until Mary and I began brainstorming trying to remember who "all" the features have been over the past several years.
I decided to include this video for one very important reason: Quite simply put, it bluntly demonstrates the very real situation that most guitar players experience in their teen years, whether male or female, in regards to imagining and fantasizing about either playing guitar or being a great rock star! This is what happens to everyone whether they wish to admit it or not. Without this open, honest, innocent, playfulness and willingness to completely let it all out, no creative process happens. And we are all "awful" at the beginning.
Some of us are much more theatrical than she is in this video. I remember while in this pre-stage of teenage fantasy, the stage before I actually got my first guitar, I was up standing on my bed playing air guitar and using a broken chair leg as a microphone, playing my records at the highest volume possible while my parents were out, (or the radio), and carrying on no different than our Lady of Sorrows is in her video, if not moreso.
She has thousands of hits on this video because the video itself so clearly captures the innocence of a teenager who wants to play guitar and has no limits of creative imagination, no negative self-awareness, and few obstacles to full self-expression. Don't you remember being in your bedroom joking around with your friends and laughing your guts out until you thought you would pee your pants? That's why this video is included! To remind everybody of where all that great energy really came from!
We think the video really successfully captures some of that "ridiculous and fun" energy that we experience for such a short time during our teenage years. It represents that "insane" creative energy that every Artist has to organize into something called ART! It amazes me that this video was ever captured in the first place.
There are several "features" that we had that are not included in this contest because the musicians either had "issues", or were not supportive to others in any manner. These were the people who were extremely negative, snobby, not at all friendly, and didn't care about anyone but themselves. They used and hurt many people, refused to sub or even join the group, and had no positive comments to offer other than "give me your money and buy my/our album now. This is not the kind of energy the we support here.
I only just signed in now, it's 11:48 a.m., and came into my inbox and am reading this. I haven't gone to my channel page yet, so I don't know what dick you are talking about. What I do know, is that over the weekend, I've been battling it out with some Vampires and Satanists trying to get into the channel and target our female players. So if there is something in the comments box or whatever you are referring to, I will deal with it shortly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I'll write back to you shortly with my thoughts about it. Thanks Chrom.

Yeah now you put it like that i do see where your coming from yeah of course we all pretend to be rock guitarists and play shovels and brooms thats how i started.Yeah now i see what your doing thanks for explaining.Satanists and vampires yep i read your coment i pissed myself laughing what a comeback 
I must agree with you on the teenager thing she's just having fun its when you see the other players you forget bout the fun and look at the guitar playing thats what i was doing cause a lot of them are very serious players.but everyone has to start somewhere
Im suprised youtube lets all these dicks come on channels with there hate and jealousy its hard enough you dealing with the channel let alone all these asswipes

I'm glad you understand about Lady of Sorrows video! It's a good reminder about where our love of music first came from, and even more important, a reminder to HAVE FUN and not allow ourselves to get too serious and all up our own ass! Come to think of it, our lovely little dickwad from douche-land serves as a catalyst to remind us of the same thing, doesn't he!
I am a serious player too, but one thing that distinguishes me from many other players is that if I'm not having fun, I'm gone. I don't stick around for the drama. Music is something that I absolutely insist upon "enjoying" first and foremost; when it gets too serious, it becomes something else I'm much better off without!
Our female players have to learn how to effectively deal with dickwads. I can protect them from a great deal here on the channel, and sometimes its a tough call as to what to remove and what to let stay. But I could never protect them if dickwad went to their channel and wrote this in their box. So I decided to present an example of how to deal with it should he decide to do that. Humor is one of the best defenses I know of. It's a good way to throw rotten fruits and vegetables at someone deserving of it.
However, if dickwad should decide to continue and the situation begin to turn ugly and get out of hand, I will block him without any hesitation whatsoever. I will also post a bulletin so that our members can choose for themselves what they would like to do. I sincerely doubt that he will even return; these types usually move on from site to site until they find they're "fix", so to speak.
But I think the point here is turning an uncomfortable and unexpected assault into a different situation altogether by using it as a good opportunity to show one's strength, self-confidence, self-esteem, good humor, lack of intimidation, self-control, and an over-all presentation of "strength, courage and experienced knowledge" in response to an inferior element.
If he did decide to return and post something else, he will sit there head-fucking himself trying to mentally out-maneuver me because he now knows that I will take anything he says and turn it against him. He's only 18, so I doubt he has the patience or the intelligence to master-mind any continuation of his own nonsense. He'll seek out a much easier target. I'm just concerned about the ladies, that's all.
Anyways, as always, thanks for the input! Nice to know I'm not the only one who gives a damn about this channel anymore! That's a good feeling. You know, there wouldn't be any attacks if we didn't have something good going on here anyways! Jealousy has its own reward, as they say!
